Dr. Jeffrey Allgeier received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California in 1981. He immediately put his skills to use in establishing the Karawa Eye Center in the jungles of the Republic of Congo, Africa, through the local Christian Church. This 2 1/2 year period gave Dr. Allgeier the opportunity to solidify a caring and serving heart in his professional career, as well as treat a variety of eye diseases which would be difficult to see in an entire career in the United States.
Dr. Allgeier’s greatest blessings are his wife Marianne and 5 children, Tracy, Jason, Jenna, Travis and Marty.
He has enjoyed watching Auburn Family Optometry grow from its inception to a large and successful practice. He serves as the eye doctor for the Children’s Home in Sacramento as well as convalescent homes in Auburn.
Dr. Allgeier is a member of the American Optometric Association, California Optometric Association and Sacramento Valley Optometric Association. He has received advanced training in Ocular Therapeutics (treatment of eye disease), co-management of laser vision correction, VDT eye care and was the first doctor to perform corneal refractive therapy in the Auburn area.
